Certified Nursing Assistants, or CNAs, work directly with patients and nurses and have a wide range of responsibilities to assist with care.
During National Nursing Assistants Week on June 17-24, we took several opportunities to celebrate our dedicated and hardworking CNAs with some food and fun.
“Hillcrest Healthcare CNAs provide the most intimate of care and do so with a great attitude,” said Diana Fisher, director of strategy and development. “I wish I had all the words in all the books to express how thankful I am for all that they do.”
Beverly Park Place Administrator Donna Kelley adds, “CNAs are the foundation of our organization. They spend the most time with the residents, develop the strongest relationships and have the hardest jobs. It takes a special person to be a CNA, and I am so thankful for each of the Hillcrest Healthcare CNAs. We couldn’t do our jobs without them!”
At West Hills, Administrator Roger Parker and Director of Nursing Shirley Crum kicked off the week by preparing “Breakfast FOR Champions” with pancakes and fixins.
They also saluted CNAs with the Top Banana awards. The trophies were quite a-peeling, don’t you think?
The Island Home crew partied all week with a recess day at work that included hopscotch and a hula hoop contest. The team had a Jammin’ in Jamaica party and other activities that included gift card giveaways and games.
Beverly Park Place hosted a carnival and cookout, and the rabbits and goats that made an appearance during the festivities stole the show!
It was great fun celebrating our CNAs. If a career in compassionate healthcare is your calling, please check out the open positions, including for CNAs in our communities, at hillcresthc.com/careers.
