A sleigh full of holiday fun

There is certainly a special feeling in the air in our three Hillcrest Healthcare communities as we prepare for the holidays. Our staff members put their hearts and a lot of fun into planning and offering several activities and events that help us spread holiday cheer.

We kicked off the holiday season by collecting Christmas artwork from our residents to use on our holiday cards. Here are a couple of the entries – all were so special!

Our residents and staff have enjoyed other activities from a hot chocolate bar to holiday centerpiece creation to writing Christmas cards while sharing stories and listening to carols. Several of the Beverly Park Place residents made homemade Christmas ornaments for the trees. Spectacular!

We also remember our healthcare partners during the holidays. This year, we continued the tradition of decorating a tree for our friends at Trinity Hills Assisted Living. We also delivered beautiful “grazing boxes” chock full of snacks, fruit, veggies, cookies and more from Picnic N Thyme to our hospital partners. Picnic N Thyme donated 20% of the proceeds from the grazing boxes to the Knoxville-Knox County CAC Office on Aging.

And, no holiday season is complete without an ugly sweater contest, right?

We’re going to keep on celebrating right through the new year and beyond, because our residents, staff and partners all are so special and deserve to be celebrated. We hope you and yours enjoy a peaceful and happy holiday season, and we send wishes for a healthy new year!
