Happy New Year! As we eagerly anticipate the year ahead, we pause to reflect and celebrate all that happened at Hillcrest Healthcare in 2021.
From a business perspective, we were happy to move management of all clinical and operational functions in-house. This move has provided greater flexibility and agility while allowing us to better serve our patients, families and employees.
Moving management in-house allows us to expand our service offerings when we see a need. This year, we launched Hillcrest at Home, which offers non-medical, personal care services for seniors in the greater Knoxville area and surrounding counties. We celebrated with our leaders who are working outside the walls of our communities to improve the lives of others through education and industry organization participation. And we certainly rejoiced when Beverly Park Place was recognized as the No. 6 top nursing home in Tennessee on Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes 2022 list.
We hosted the first Knox Rox benefit concert supporting the Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation and Alzheimer’s Tennessee. The event raised $11,000 for these organizations and featured axe throwing, food trucks, cornhole and a performance by Lavonda Cantrell and the 865 Bandits.
In 2021, we had a lot of fun! We understand that keeping our residents and patients engaged leads to healthier outcomes. Supporting our associates while providing an encouraging work environment helps our staff know just how important their work is and how much they’re appreciated. We tend to go all out to celebrate holidays and provide special recognition through events like National Nursing Assistants Week, Occupational Therapy Month, Veterans Day and more. We enjoyed our celebrations and daily activities throughout the year.
